Role Summary: Focused on driving disruptive ideation and leading innovative MVP’s in the digital industrial space through cross-functional collaboration, this role is geared toward integrating new digital technologies such as big data, machine learning, edge computing and additive manufacturing with GE’s industrial asset base to enable new commercial and internal productivity opportunities.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with product management to understand the “voice of our customer” in order to build solutions that address a pain point and brings value to the customer 
  • Be a technical cross-functional leader with organizations such as, services, additive manufacturing, locomotive, marine and mining engineering groups to drive new digital solution opportunities 
  • Work with functional Engineering teams to identify ways in which to use cloud and edge based applications to drive simplification and productivity in using big data 
  • Liaison between functional Engineering, Software Developers and Analytics teams to link capabilities with needs 
  • Identify opportunities to scale identified applications and execute on implementation 
  • Develop and provide training of applications to Engineering and other users 
  • Lead application developers in creation of applications 
  • Be a thoughtful leader for new disruptive digital solutions by engaging in external collaboration efforts with startups, incubators and universities 
  • Act as coach for to others in driving digital industrial solutions across all functional engineering areas
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university or college, or relevant and significant industry experience. 
  • A minimum of 5 years of technical experience in an engineering business
